Gov Union Pressures Wells Fargo to Block Gun Manufacturers

Apparently it’s ok to use your position and power as a government union to try to force a private enterprise from doing business with companies that make things you don’t like.  That sentence, if true (which it is, and I’ll show you that in a moment), is even worse when the companies the government union doesn’t want you to do business with are gun manufacturers.

A national teacher’s union is threatening to end its relationship with Wells Fargo if they don’t sever all ties with gun manufacturers that produce those scary black guns.  The union is the American Federation of Teachers.  Last week, they issued a press release that declared, “We’re issuing Wells Fargo an ultimatum—they can have a mortgage market that includes America’s teachers, or they can continue to do business with the NRA and gun manufacturers.  They can’t do both.”

Apparently, the American Federation of Teachers presumes to speak for all teachers, not just the teachers in its union, but all teachers.  How else could they presume to make a statement that includes “they can have a mortgage market that includes America’s teachers” if they are not assuming that all American teachers are gun grabbing, police-state-enabling, cattle-car-guide wanna-be’s like the folks who run this government-funded and government-protected racket?

Members of the American Federation of Teachers have, at present, around 20,000 mortgages with Wells Fargo.  They are threatening to refinance their mortgages with another company.  The tactic is a continued ramped-up effort that began after the Parkland shooting and has not abated.  Bringing in the power of government unions, funded, as they are, by tax dollars (whether you want to fund these organizations or not), takes these efforts to a whole other level.

One wonders how many teachers that are a part of this Union, that are forced to pay dues to this union, appreciate their coerced membership dues going to fund an organization that is attempting to use its political and economic power (power given to it by you and me, without our consent) to shake down a major financial institution in the hopes of destroying the makers of tools individuals can use as self-defense.

The government-funded and protected union is also encouraging other Unions to make similar moves, meaning this de facto extension of government is attempting to shut down gun manufacturers through market pressure, a market pressure they can create only because they have government backing and our stolen wealth to do so.

AFT President Randi Weingarten added in the press release, “the lives of students and educators must be valued more than guns.  This is America—Wells Fargo has the right to be the NRA banker, but we have rights too. … We have a responsibility on behalf of our members and their students who face potential gun violence every day.”

Of course Randi “I want a police state and I want you to fund it” Weingarten uses the false dichotomy that somehow there is an either or between guns and the safety of kids.  The facts, of course, contradict this tiring fear-mongering tactic of the police-state champion crowd, but don’t let facts get in the way of a good fear-porn narrative.

There is no epidemic of gun violence, not in America, and definitely not among kids.   Weingarten is carrying forth psychological terrorism, all in the name of producing fear among people so that they BEG the government to take more power from them.  Weingarten is the one sacrificing kids in the name of the dream of having a police state.

It is better to fill kids with false terror, to create uncertainty and trauma in their lives using lies, than to see blue collar workers actually have the tools to be able to defend themselves against criminals and even, if need be, against tyrannical governments, the kind of government Randi Weingarten appears to want to create and empower.

When you openly lobby for destroying manufacturers that produce tools of self-defense, tools that are needed even more by the very “labor” you pretend to represent, your “rights” matter little compared to the rights of individuals not to have their wealth siphoned from them to fund the likes of you, Randi Weingarten, police state enabler.
