In one incident in August last year eleven soldiers were killed by a group of bandits who also “burnt down 4 operational vehicles and vandalized 2 others.” then proceeded to leave with “4 AK-47 rifles and one Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle belonging to the deceased soldiers.”

As well as 12 gauge shotgun shells, many of these guns use modified 7.62 ammunition.
